We started with the Barn Find car and a xxxx Chrysler Royal 4 door with only 46,000 miles on it and that had been in storage from xxxx. When World War II ended and automobile production resumed, most of the vehicles produced were of pre-War design. Some had slight modifications and it took several years for the automakers to introduce totally new vehicles. For Chrysler, that year was xxxx, when they introduction their first postwar all-new styling change. xxxx also marked the companys 25th year in business. In addition to the styling changes, Chrysler introduced a station wagon, a bodystyle that had not been part of the companys lineup since xxxx. During xxxx, Chrysler produced just 850 examples of the Royal Station Wagon out of the 124,218 vehicles built by Chrysler. Chevrolet produced 10,171 wagons and Ford 13,412 station wagons. Clearly, this was a small, niche market. Woodies were rare when they were produced and in modern times, they still remain rare. This old girl was in storage for many years along with her sister car a 4 door example. The donor was last registered in xxxx and had only been on the road for 7 short years. We took any and all parts from that donor car that we could possibly use for the Station Wagon. This is what has been done so far. FRAME AND CHASSIS 1. Both cars were dissembled and each part inspected. The better of the two parts were set aside for the wagon. 2. The best frame was media blasted, two wet coats of etching primer applied and two coats of rust resistant gloss black were sprayed on. 3. Both engines ran and we set aside the one with the best test results. 4. The Engine, brake system, rear end, front end and the transmission were inspected and any and all worn parts were replaced. 5. The rear end and the front end were attached to the frame. 6. The master cylinder was inspected and re-installed. 7. All new brake lines were installed. 8. A new gas line was installed. 9. The wheels were media blasted primed and painted black. 10. A brand new set of Coker Tires were put on the rims.11. The wheels and tires were put on the restored chassis. 12.
